Max Sloan died about 1957

I talked to L.W. Newsom who knew Max Sloan, understanding we are going back in history 50 or 60 years.  Lawrence said, "Max was a top notch player and played in the majors."   "He lived on South Main Street in Winston-Salem, NC."  "Max worked for the Pepsi Cola Bottling Co."  "He died in a car or truck accident about 50 or 60 years ago." 

Here is a NCCA Booklet the Association published for their an up coming 1952 NC Championship Checker Classic." Max is listed as one of the Board of Directors.  He obviously didn't live too many years after this.
